Wayne joined FGD in 2011 and brings over 20 years of experience to lead the intellectual property and patent law practice. He is a highly experienced patent prosecutor with a strong background in Pharma/Biotech matters. Additionally, he has extensive experience in U.S. and European patent office and court proceedings, Pharma/Biotech collaboration agreements and public and private investments.
Wayne previously practiced at Preti Flaherty in the Intellectual Property Group, where he utilized his experience in prosecution, litigation, due diligence, opinion work, licensing and portfolio development and management. Prior to joining Preti Flaherty, Wayne’s legal career included founding a small patent law firm in Massachusetts and practicing patent law with Hale and Dorr LLP as a senior partner. He also served as sole in-house patent counsel to Hybridon, Inc., where he developed and managed a large patent portfolio and negotiated Pharma/Biotech collaboration and research agreements. Wayne also holds a Ph.D. in Genetics and brings his extensive knowledge of biology, pharmaceuticals, chemistry and medical technology to his patent law practice. He is admitted in Massachusetts and the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
