Susan M. N. Antonio has over 25 years of corporate and securities law, venture capital, private placement, business development, financial operating, tax and public accounting experience. Her broad experience includes public and private securities, corporate and partnership formations and dissolutions, corporate and partnership governance and contractual matters with particular focus on the myriad legal and financial issues associated with developing early stage companies and commercializing technologies.

Ms. Antonio joined Furman Gregory Deptula in 2009 where her diverse experience in law, finance, tax and management enables her to focus on advancing early and late stage companies through formation, organic growth, private equity investment, venture capital investment, mergers, acquisitions and initial public offerings.

In addition to her association with Furman Gregory Deptula, Ms. Antonio is General Partner and Chief Legal Counsel of Saturn Partners, a Boston-based venture capital and private equity firm. She has structured and negotiated approximately $70 million of privately placed debt and equity securities and $50 million of venture capital investment at Saturn in a broad range of industries including e-commerce, digital media, software and information technology, e-learning, advanced materials manufacturing, disruptive technologies and biotechnology.

From 1996 to 2000, Ms. Antonio practiced law in the general corporate and securities area of Bingham McCutchen LLP, a major national law firm, where her clients included: an electronic commerce issuer in a $50 million initial public offering and $40 million stock-for-stock acquisition; a biotechnology issuer in a $17 million initial public offering; and a corporate issuer in a $20 million private placement of convertible preferred stock.

From 1980 to 1987, Ms. Antonio worked as an auditor and tax practitioner in the public accounting profession, completing her tenure as a tax manager with Ernst & Young LLP in Boston. From 1987 to 1993, Ms. Antonio held senior financial operating positions in several early and middle stage development companies.

Ms. Antonio holds a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Miami School of Law, where she was Senior Articles Editor of the University of Miami Law Review and a member of the Order of the Coif. She also holds a MS degree in Taxation from Bentley College and a BS degree in Business Administration from Boston College.
Ms. Antonio is admitted to the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Bar. She is not admitted in Maine.
