BIOSCIENCE

Karin Gregory is the practice leader for companies and non-profits that focus in the biotechnology, medical device, diagnostic, and specialty food and seafood industries. As a result, our firm has a practical understanding of the regulatory paths that companies need to take, especially around the labeling, advertising and promotion of products for these industries. Our firm works closely with several regulatory consultants who provide assistance in applications for 510k, PMA and CLIA clearances, approvals and certifications, issues on HACCP or other regulatory agencies, such as the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) on your medical products or health related claims or advertisements. You need the guidance and review of the legal team on the marketing materials, websites, trade show and publications strategies or representation on warning letters and inspection matters. Some of our clients wish to perform work in the industry but need an overview of what their responsibilities will entail for a medical device client. Our goal is to advise, counsel and educate to prepare your business to act rather than to react. You don’t need a DC law firm to provide this type of expertise, however if we feel that is warranted, we will partner with one of the leading FDA firms to guide and assist us on your behalf.

CREATIVE ECONOMY

Karin Gregory leads our creative economy/consumer products practice that straddles entertainment law, fashion law, and technology protection. We help fashion and jewelry designers protect their works, understand copyright and trademark laws, and manage their business as it grows beyond a one-person shop. We also help authors, musicians, TV and movie producers, and artists draft and negotiate workable contracts to protect their interests while doing business. We offer guidance to companies seeking to bring to market items such as jams, breads, seafood, ice cream, healthy snacks and nutritional supplements, as well as work with cutting edge businesses whether newly developed software, sustainable beekeeping methods, or alternative energy technology.
